Achilleas Kousaridis
Achilleas Kousaridis began playing tennis in Thessaloniki, Greece, at the age of four, quickly rising to become one of the country’s top junior players. By age twelve, he was competing across Europe on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, reaching a ranking as high as No. 140 in the U16 division and participating in major international events, including several Category 1 tournaments and the Sánchez-Casal Youth Cup.
As he progressed, Achilleas transitioned to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) circuit, competing in 34 tournaments worldwide and earning a place on the Greek National Junior Davis Cup Team. He represented Greece as the No. 1 player at the 2021 European Championships and is a three-time Greek Junior National Champion in singles, as well as a one-time champion in doubles. His development was further enhanced through two years of high-performance training at the BTT Academy in Barcelona.
Achilleas currently studies and competes for Hobart and William Smith Colleges, a highly selective and academically prestigious institution, where he made an immediate impact by setting an all-time Liberty League record with seven Rookie of the Week awards.
With extensive coaching experience, Achilleas has worked with players of all ages and levels, including time spent with the Rafa Nadal Academy across several tennis centers, Avant Garde Tennis Academy, and Ikos Resort in Greece. He has led private lessons, clinics, junior development programs, and strategy sessions, helping players improve their technique, decision-making, and confidence on the court.
In addition to his tennis background, Achilleas developed experience in padel during his time living, training, and coaching at BTT Academy, one of the leading tennis and padel training centers internationally. While his primary background is in tennis, his daily exposure to a high-performance padel environment allowed him to build a strong understanding of the game. He was introduced to the sport by a close friend and roommate, a top-level padel athlete, who played an important role in his development as both a player and coach. Through this experience, Achilleas developed solid fundamentals and hands-on coaching experience in padel.
Last summer, Achilleas served as a tennis professional at Buck Hill Falls, where he quickly became known for his positive energy and effective teaching style. We are excited to welcome him back to our community this summer and look forward to the expertise and enthusiasm he brings to our racquet sports program.
Coaching Philosophy: Achilleas emphasizes disciplined training, competitive intensity, and tactical decision-making, helping players develop a strong mindset and perform under pressure.
