Jacob Linares
Jacob Linares is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management at Hobart College. He began his tennis journey at the age of five, and the sport has been a central part of his life ever since. Jacob has had the unique experience of living in several countries throughout his childhood, including Colombia, Spain, and the United States. He spent his childhood in North Carolina, then moved to Colombia from ages 8 to 15, followed by Spain from ages 15 to 17, before returning to the US to continue his academic and athletic career at Hobart College.
During his junior tennis career in Colombia, Jacob achieved a national ranking of 6 in his age group and broke into the Top 20 in South America. His strong performance on the international junior circuit allowed him to continue his tennis career at the collegiate level in the United States.
Jacob started his college journey at Hobart College alongside fellow tennis professional, Achilleas. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Jacob has earned numerous accolades throughout his time at Hobart, including being named to the All-Academic Conference, Doubles Team of the Week (multiple times), and Player of the Week. These honors are a testament to his hard work and dedication both on and off the court.
Outside of his playing career, Jacob has built a solid coaching foundation. He has coached at various country clubs in North Carolina and led clinics in Spain and at Hobart College. His coaching experience spans across all ages and skill levels.
Jacob is known for his patience and ability to work with a variety of personalities. His coaching philosophy centers on ensuring participants have fun while focusing on their individual goals. Whether working on specific skills or simply enjoying the game, Jacob tailors his approach to meet the unique needs of each player.
