Luis Quintero
Luis Quintero is an RSPA Elite Professional and is certified in Tennis, Pickleball, Platform Tennis, and Padel through the Racquet Sports Professional Association.
As a junior player, Luis was consistently ranked among the Top 10 in Colombia from ages 8 to 18. By age 15, he was ranked in the Top 30 in South America and competed in professional tournaments before moving to the United States. He began his collegiate career at Shorter University in Georgia, where he qualified for nationals for two consecutive years and served as team captain. He finished his college career ranked No. 31 nationally in singles and No. 13 in doubles. In 2010, Luis received the prestigious Champion of Character Award from the NAIA.
After two years in Georgia, Luis moved to New York City, where he graduated from Hunter College in 2013 with a degree in Film and Media Studies. During his first tennis season at Hunter, he won the Conference Championship and was named Most Valuable Player. In 2012, he was honored as Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Luis is entering his sixth year as Director of Racquet Sports at Buck Hill Falls. Prior to this role, he served as Director of Tennis at New Canaan Racquet Club in Connecticut. There, he led a team of professionals through a restructuring process that elevated the club’s programming and standards. He implemented a comprehensive 10 & Under development system, increased junior participation, and created a High-Performance program for college-level players. Under his leadership, adult USTA team participation nearly doubled, the club expanded its USTA and UTR tournament offerings, and a new Pickleball program was successfully introduced.
Luis also spent nine summers at New Canaan Field Club, one of the largest tennis programs in the Northeast, where he served in multiple leadership roles, including Men’s Coordinator, Women’s Coordinator, Events Coordinator, Assistant Director, and Junior Coordinator.
He brings extensive experience working with players of all ages and levels and has coached in high-performance programs in Bogotá, Colombia; Camp Starlight in New York; Nike Tennis Camp in Amherst, Massachusetts; and Kings Highway Tennis Club in Darien, Connecticut.
